The pilot project commenced on Monday 1 August 2016. This poster about the program can be displayed in waiting rooms.

Eligibility is defined as those with a current Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card; or those under 18 years of age.

Patients under 18 are free, and for adult patients there is a cost of $44 per appointment.

Oral Health Services Tasmania have designed a brochure about oral health and pregnancy which can be given to all pregnant women regardless of eligibility to the service.

As part of the program Oral Health Services Tasmania will provide dental check-ups for the baby at 12 and 18 months of age, and provide preventive advice to minimise oral health risks for the child.

For further information and evidence about the importance of oral health during pregnancy, please see the Health Professionals Information Fact Sheet.
