Pre-referral work-up

History

This clinic sees pregnant women with complex social needs and current or past issues of drug and alcohol misuse.

This a multidisciplinary clinic and is accessed by referral to the Antenatal Clinic with social and substance use risks highlighted and ensuring the referral complies to referral standards.

Tests

  • Copies of relevant investigation
  • Hepatitis C (PCR status) and HIV

Urgent:

Urgent referrals should be accompanied by a phone call to the Consultant/Registrar to organise urgent review and the referral must be faxed.

We will endeavour to see these patients within four weeks, or sooner if clinically indicated.

Semi-urgent:

We will endeavour to see these patients within 12 weeks
